Take CO-WATERS “Co-Create your Support” survey

Europe is taking action to restore our oceans, rivers, and lakes, and the CO-WATERS project is here to support coastal, riverfront, and lakefront cities, regions, and islands in leading the way.
CO-WATERS is a four-year Horizon Europe project backed by 17 partners and six pilot areas. By connecting stakeholders, offering tailored training and support, providing guidance on funding, and fostering citizen engagement, CO-WATERS empowers local and regional actors to lead the transformation toward clean, healthy, and resilient water systems. It also helps them develop strong transition plans to earn the Mission Ocean and Waters Label and contribute to the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” by 2030.

Shape the support you need

Your experience, needs, and priorities are essential to shaping CO-WATERS’ support services. We have designed a 15–minute survey to gather insights from organisations working in water-related fields, from local and regional authorities and NGOs to research institutions and citizen initiatives.
Through this survey, we aim to understand:

  • Your current challenges and priorities in governance, stakeholder and citizen engagement, and skills and capacity building
  • Your funding needs and financial readiness
  • Your interest in applying for the Mission Ocean and Waters Label and your expectations for such a label
  • How CO-WATERS can best support you

Why your input matters

This survey is the first step in a collaborative process. Your responses will help CO-WATERS design tailored services that truly meet your needs. Based on your input, we will host an online workshop in the autumn of 2025 to explore needs in more detail and co-develop services and support at an in-person workshop during the European Ocean Days.
By participating, you directly influence the support, training, networking, and funding guidance CO-WATERS provides to advance the transition towards cleaner ocean and waters.

Who should participate?

We welcome input from a wide range of stakeholders working to protect and restore Europe’s waters, including:

  • Waterfront local authorities and regional governments
  • Research institutions and universities
  • Public water authorities
  • Private sector actors involved in water management or sustainability initiatives
  • NGOs and citizen initiatives

Your perspective, whether your organisation is already active in water projects or just starting your environmental journey, is invaluable.
Take the “Co-Create your Support” survey before 15 October 2025, 23:59 pm CEST and help shape the support that will accelerate Europe’s transition to clean, healthy, and resilient ocean and waters.
